· The Internet started in the 1950s as a way for government researchers to share information. Computers in the '50s were large and immobile.
· By 1995 the internet was an established phenomenon.
2. THE EVOLUTION OF THE INTERNET SPEED
· When the Internet speed improved, people could perform more activities online within less time.
3. ACCESS TO THE INTERNET
· According Digital Global Overview Report, in 2022, more than 5 billion people are internet users. Referring to those studies, there has been more than 150 % increase in internet users in the last decade.
4. HOW CUSTOMERS LOOK FOR INFORMATION
· Social media has become a top channel of online brand research, second only to search engines and widely used for every state of the purchase journey.
5. WHAT PEOPLE BUY ONLINE
· According to survey carried out by Statista (2022) 59% of U.S. shoppers purchased clothing online between 2018 and 2019. With books, movies, music & games, shoes, and consumer electronics falling close behind.
6. VIDEO CONSUMPTION
· According to the Digital Global Overview Report (2022), Most popular videos watch online are the music videos, comedy, tutorials or live streams. Surveyors are also interested in educational videos and product reviews.
· Video consumption is still mainly entertainment-directed, however lots of people consume videos for educational or shopping purposes as well.
7. CUSTOMER TRENDS
· Due to pandemics the day-to-day life transferred int the virtual reality even more.
· More people changed their office jobs into work-from-home model. More also started shopping online on regular basics.
· eCommerce activity has seen a huge jump over the past two years, with the pandemic forcing more of us to find alternative means to browse and buy.
· Even the longest and best-established businesses and industries need to transform in order to meet customer demands.
· Consumers’ shopping behaviors are changing as well. The use of digital technology to research, browse and buy has gone from sporadic to the norm.
· There are new opportunities for people to promote their businesses or interests affordably. In the past, only big companies influenced trends.
· It can be stated that technology is now instantly connecting everybody everywhere.
8. CONCLUSION
· As more people gain access to the internet, there will be many more opportunities.
· The impact of technology in society is only going to get greater.
· In the Future as virtual reality improves, and the technology approaches real-world replication, many experiences once thought belonging to in-store can be translated into the digital world.
· With 5G, the internet is much faster. The Internet of Things has potential to be a revolutionary technology.
